Robertson Chartered Accountants, founded 18 years ago by Don Robertson, has become one of Nelson’s leading accountancy firms. The firm of seven staff is currently led by three directors; Gilbert Robertson, Chris Hardiman and Gavin Sebire, and has offices in Nelson and Wellington, providing business development advice, as well as the accountancy basics, to clients based throughout New Zealand.
Robertson’s are members of a global alliance of consulting professionals known as Principa Alliance. This membership gives us special access to powerful and proven planning tools, international resources and support. By combining this with local knowledge and experience we can deliver superior support services to small and medium-sized businesses who are motivated to succeed.

Gilbert Robertson – Director, Chartered Accountant BCom
Gilbert is a director of Robertson Chartered Accountants and has over 12 years of experience working in the industry. He is experienced in guiding new businesses through the initial start-up phase and mentoring them as they grow and succeed. Gilbert specialises in business structuring, financial analysis and developing business optimisation strategies, and is an industry professional who is willing to go the extra distance for his clients.

Chris Hardiman – Director, Chartered Accountant BCA, NZX Dip
Chris Hardiman is passionate about helping others to achieve their business goals, so they can enjoy the lifestyle they desire.
Chris has over 25 years experience as a chartered accountant and is able to draw upon his vast knowledge-base to tailor-make a plan for every individual client, so they can achieve success. His specialties are business structuring, tax planning, small business management and trust accounting.

Gavin Sebire – Director, Chartered Accountant NCB
Gavin became a chartered accountant at the age of 25 and has worked for several reputable companies since then, including international firm Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu Limited, where he became an acclaimed expert in the New Zealand motor vehicle industry. As a skilled business advisor, Gavin is passionate about helping medium-sized businesses grow and develop. He prides himself on providing a personal service and will travel any distance required to consult with his clients and offer them the advice they need to achieve their individual business goals.

Don has over 30 years experience in the industry and founded Robertson Chartered Accountants with the vision of helping small businesses to achieve success. Don has been involved with a wide range of local industries and has therefore acquired a diverse range of skills and experience. Don is also a keen fisherman and has a fantastic work-life balance, which he believes is an essential part of business success.
